This functional safety technology complies with EN 954-1 / EN 13849-1, which aim at avoiding any danger to persons by means of technical equipment.
Control and drive electronics installed in systems must meet the following requirements:
- They should monitor the systems instead of disconnecting them
- They must meet the applicable safety categories or performance levels
SEW-EURODRIVE uses the modular and universally applicable safety monitor MOVISAFE® for drive electronics to master these challenges flexibly – always tailored to the requirements of the application and task in question.
The safety modules in the UCS..B series are available with the following features:
- UCS10B: Logic operation
- UCS11B or USB12B: Monitoring via 1 or 2 encoders
- UCS23B: Digital expansion component
- UCS25B: module for diagnostics
